SFG DIY
The happiness project, #208

maartjevstheworld:

Hosted the 50th and 51st show with my little label called Smithsfoodgroup this week. Just letting that sink in slowly.

I will continue in hopes and dreams of becoming the Netherlands’ Next Top Label.

The premise of minimum wage, when it was introduced, was that a single wage earner should be able to own a home and support a family.  That was what it was based on; a full time job, any job, should be able to accomplish this.

The fact people scoff at this idea if presented nowadays, as though the people that ring up your groceries or hand you your burgers don’t deserve the luxury of a home and a family, is disgusting.

Dubbing. Out on September 19th. Shirts one week after. Announcement sooon.

kojisaysaloha:

I’m giving away my entire discography and collecting donations via my bandcamp to raise funds to combat the Ebola outbreak in west Africa. Over 1,500 people have died in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Senegal, and the Democratic Republic of Congo because of Ebola and many more are infected. The lack of clean water and medical personnel/supplies are major factors standing in the way of containment of the deadly virus. I will be donating money from my bandcamp to Charity: Water and Doctors Without Borders.
When people come together, they can make a huge difference. There is an unprecedented public health crisis happening in west Africa and it deserves more attention. I’m grateful that I can use my music to get people engaged with this issue and the important work that organizations like Doctors Without Borders and Charity: Water do.

True story; this officer (John Pike) got a settlement of $38,000 because he said he got depressed after pepper spraying these kids. Oh, the depression wasn’t for feeling remorseful for pepper spraying a bunch of college kids peacefully protesting. He got depressed because he said since the media kept playing the video of him pepper spraying peaceful kids without cause, he got threats and didn’t feel safe. He didn’t feel safe. I’m not making that up. This motherfucker collected nearly 40 grand on worker’s comp after assaulting a bunch of college kids.

We’ve done ACAB related posts on this page before as it’s strongly connected to our roots. We are not the people shouting cops need to be killed or how all cops deserve to be beaten up whenever, wherever. If the system is sick, threat the system. The persons in charge. UNLESS, in any case, the cop becomes the oppressor in person. Doing stuff like shown above = a good clean kick towards the nuts and out of this state paid job. Educate. There is always a choice.

funest:

We went skipping in Calais for the refugees who live there (and need food), but barely any containers could be found. Luckily there was a huge supermarket where we could climb a fence to reach their garbage. We were happy because there were a lot of products in there, until we found out…

Stuff like this is fucked up.
